Wedding trends we cannot wait to see come to life in 2025!

Like with all industries, at the start of the new year, a few educated forecasters bring out top trends for the wedding industry. This year is no exception. The world of weddings continues to develop and evolve, blending tradition with innovation.

For many couples looking to tie the knot, these trend predictions can be overwhelming, to say the least. That’s why this year, Wharf Events has decided to break down some of the top trends forecasted for 2025.

Sustainable Soiree’s:

There’s no doubt about it, sustainability is currently at the forefront for change in many sectors. The wedding industry is no exception. Gaining traction in recent years, couples are opting to implement environmentally friendly aspects to their special day. From reduced paper use by opting for wedding websites instead of traditional invitations to locally sourced produce for the reception dinner, how to reduce the impact is a theme that is here to stay for this year.

Nearest and dearest:

Gone are the days of having lavishly large weddings. Instead, couples are opting for more intimate gatherings. Over the last year, Pinterest saw a huge increase in searches for dinner party wedding aesthetics and garden party weddings – effectively reiterating the interest has shifted from large-scale events to more personal functions with the couples nearest and dearest. These receptions are usually elevated by personalised menus, bespoke cocktails, shared-style dining and a relaxed familial atmosphere.

Flare takes centre stage:

For a long time, minimalism has ruled weddings around the globe. We are happy to report that artistic flare has entered the industry and is thriving. Whilst a minimalist backdrop is still favoured, we are seeing a large increase in creative centrepieces, organic typography and unique seating charts. This creates a personalised touch to your special day and often doubles as keepsakes that guests can use as a cherished memory of your event.

Dare to be bold:

In theme with the aforementioned trend, expansive bold colour palettes are the latest craze. It’s predicted we are going to be graced with colourful seating cards, mismatched bridesmaid dresses and bright bouquets this year. The spring-like colour palette has been trending in past years, however, we are now entering primary colour territory – colours such as wasabi greens and deep reds have been slowly establishing themselves as key players in many weddings as of late.
